Business Services units pauses service on June 10 in recognition of #ShutDownAcademia
June 10, 2020
Today in recognition of #ShutDownAcademia all Business Services units will pause services for 10 minutes. Business Services is taking this action in support of the ongoing work to combat racism and honor the Black community’s contributions to academia.
In a message to campus on June 9, 2020 Montse Fuentes, Executive Vice President and Provost wrote:
" #ShutDownAcademia/#ShutDownSTEM/#Strike4BlackLives is a movement that is asking all members of the global academic community to stop doing “business as usual” on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, and to dedicate the day to educating ourselves about racism—especially in higher education—and to make a commitment to action and healing. I want to encourage each of you to participate."
Business Services recognizes our call to be "leaders of change" and encourages our community to focus on education, action, and healing on June 10, 2020.
